Larry Pratt:
With Conceal and Carry, Would Cain Have Slayed Able?

Genesis 4: 6-11

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

According to Larry Pratt, Executive Director of Gun Owners of America and a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, if there would have been conceal and carry rights when -- according to the Bible -- the only people on Earth were Adam, Eve, Cain and Able, Able could have taken out Cain. Had this been the case, the murder rate would have been the astronomical rate of 1 out of four. (Adam + Eve + Cain + Able = 4; less Able). Likewise, after Able's death, one out of three people were murderers.

Continuing on with the story of Genesis, it quickly becomes obvious that God is a bleeding heart liberal. Did God whip up Adam and Eve to go out and kill that murdering bastard Cain? No. In fact, He warned that anyone taking out Cain would pay big time. Read the following:

Genesis: 15-17

And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

(I'm not sure where Cain's wife came from. But Cain went over the hill and he began to multiply quiet prolifically. I'll leave off here, because we don't want to have to indoctrinate you children with sex education and have to explain all the begating that takes place for the next group of verses.)

Here's how Larry Pratt interprets the Cain and Able story:

The underlying argument for gun control seems to be that the availability of guns causes crime. By extension, the availability of any weapon would have to be viewed as a cause of crime. What does the Bible say about such a view?

Perhaps we should start at the beginning, or at least very close to the beginning--in Genesis 4. In this chapter we read about the first murder. Cain had offered an unacceptable sacrifice, and Cain was upset that God insisted that he do the right thing. In other words, Cain was peeved that he could not do his own thing.

Cain decided to kill his brother rather than get right with God. There were no guns available, although there may well have been a knife. Whether it was a knife or a rock, the Bible does not say. The point is, the evil in Cain's heart was the cause of the murder, not the availability of the murder weapon.

God's response was not to ban rocks or knives, or whatever, but to banish the murderer. Later (see Genesis 9:5-6) God instituted capital punishment, but said not a word about banning weapons.
---

Below is Genesis 9: 5-6, does anybody see any contradictions here?

And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Read more by Larry Pratt on why God wants his followers to be able conceal and carry in church on Sunday. Obviously, it's alright, cause the Bible tells Larry Pratt so.

What would Jesus carry?

Cain's wife came from the land of Nod; God left out their Genesis story when he told Moses about how he did everything. OR MAYBE God got confused and that's why there are two different Genesis stories about Adam and Eve. Maybe he just confused the two and then Moses pretended like it was the same story...

It's either that or if Adam and Eve were first and all came out of his loins, then there was probably 30 generations of brother-sister relations. And then after God in his bloodlust destroyed the world and all it's inhabitants except for Noah and the ark which held ~20 million species and enough food for at least 2 of each to survive for half of a year, there had to have been 20 some generations of brother sister mating for humans and a lot more for animals.

According to the numbers, I think something like 7 people built the pyramids and 5 Isrealites invaded Cannan, if the numbers put out by people who say that the earth would be overpopulated if humanity did not start with 2 people with Adam and Even and then 7 people at Noah are correct. Which is so amazing! With God all things are possible!

Obviously, with statements like you've made above, you need to pray more for enlightenment.

I have a Bible question for you?

How many of each animal did Noah bring on the ark?

2 of the unclean, 7 clean (which I believe actually means 14). Well, according to one part of Genesis. Another part just tells Noah to take 2 of each animal of every kind. He also, I assume, had to take all the fauna, as that wouldn't have survived half a year underwater. Plus all that food, which includes meat for the carnivores.

Oh and never mind that Noah had no idea what was and wasn't clean as that wasn't established yet. Shhhh.

CATO:

You're such a literalist!

Perhaps you meant "flora"?

fauna def:
"all the animal life in a particular region"

Could the infallable have committed an
error?

Then Jesus “No Fear” Nazareth went out from Fleet Farm with his new 12 gauge. And his Father said unto him, “Saweth off the barrel, my Son, so as to concealeth and carryeth it more stealthfully.” And it came to pass that Jesus packed much heat. But the multitudes of Cain’s begats rose up against Jesus in a dark alley. Jesus sensed them coming and smote them with the coolest matrix move ever. Then Jesus flew into the sunset with his latex babe - the holy Trinity.

Yes pet. Thank you for correcting my error.

I only posted a response about Cain since the question was asked. And yes, if God made guns in the beginning, Cain would have probably used it. If God made flamethrowers instead, or baseball bats, or screwdrivers, or golf clubs, etc, I bet he would have used those. But it probably used a rock or a "knife" he made (well, he probably never existed). All of these things are tools that can be deadly if in the wrong (or right!) hands.
