Tough Choices: Who to Believe Fox News? or Dr. Bil?

After a short journey over to the internet blog swamp we fondly refer to as ontheborderline.nut.
I came upon a post by blog genius "Flashy" aka. Dr.bil. He has an MBA from the UW-System you know, just check out his vanity press bio. His genius is beyond the comprehension of the intellectually inferior Senator Obama, graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School.... But I digress.

Flashy is attempting to convince the cadre freedom fighters at who regularly frequent .nut blogs like OTBL that Presidential Candidate Barack Obama is delighted to have received the endorsement of the Black Panthers.
This race baiting clown (aka. Dr.Bil ) goes on to claim Obama to be an advocate of Black Nationalism ...
blah blah blah. ( go read it for yourself if you dare soil you web browser http://www.ontheborderline.net/?p=5391).

Who'd have thunk that the brilliant minds at OTBL would have been contradicting another more well known
right wing tool, FOX NEWS? (see Fox article)
What a dilemma, who to believe, OTBL or Fox News?

There's a lot of hair on fire or BO's connection to the Rev. White, etc. Since I haven't been wasting my drive-time radio listening to Rush Limbaugh and the right-wing, radio rockettes harmonizes on the talking points of the day, I can only guess what they are saying. Likewise, I've read a few recent letters to the editor in the St. Paul paper praising the words of Limbaugh about how BO's religion will help destroy democracy as we know it.

Of course, the thunder from the right on the issue of Rev. White and the new Black Panthers is aimmed at letting the air out of BO's band wagon so that Hillary gets the nomination. The thinking, of course, is that Hillary will get trounched because everybody hates her but lesbians and communists.

Hey, this is a presidential election race and it's a good thing to bring these BO's issues up now. If not now, when? October and early November? If BO wins the nomination, these will be the issues in October and early November.

What else will the GOP run? McCain's promise to keep us in Iraq for another 98 years? Fred Thompson made McCain look interesting. Without the likes of Thompson, McCain is about appealing as an overripe banana. My Republican, Bush-voting friends tell me this.

It's still nearly eight months to the election. A lot can happen. Whatever the final results of the election are, it should be interesting.

Sunny,

You disappoint me, in that you mentionite not the the extraordinary insights of OTBL luminary Dr. Bil. My guess is that if the New Black Panthers contributed to the Obama campaign that money has been returned, unlike the money from white supremacists being put to good use by Ron Paul. One more point. Unlike ontheborderline.nut, anyone can register on the Obama website and create their own blog, much like the New Black Panthers did.Don't believe me just go and try youself. Maybe Dr. Bil should register, create a blog, and paste some of his unique brand of radical lunacy on the Obama website so that BO, can be criticized for associating with extremeists on the other side of the political spectrum as well.
Interesting match up, Obama graduate of Columbia and Harvard vs. MBA from the University of Wisconsin System. Hahaha. What a thing to brag about. He's so ashamed that his degree is from a non-Madison campus that he twists his alma mater into being a bunch of government bureaucrats in Madison. LMAO.....

Personally, I'm not convinced that where you earn you college degree makes you smarter. There are different types of smarts, e.g., book, street, etc. Just because a poodle’s got a pedigree doesn't mean it can fetch a stick.

Remember the OTBL'ers Chris Kilber recently wrote a letter to the HSO expounding on the greatness of Republican Ron Paul. This would be the same Ron Paul endorsed by KKK Grand Dragons David Duke and Don Black.

David Duke calls Ron Paul “our God.” Holocaust-denier Duke has said, “Our clear goal must be the advancement of the white race and separation of the white and black races. This goal must include freeing of the American media and government from subservient Jewish interests.”

Paul has recently been the center of controversy for refusing to return a campaign contribution from Neo-Nazi Black. Black gave the following endorsement for Paul on a radio show last October: “"Whatever organization you belong to, remember first and foremost that you're a white nationalist, then put aside your differences with one another and work together…Vote for Ron Paul, 2008."

Who makes up the blog squad at OTBL? A handful of middle age, frustrated white boys who are jealous of Bob Ziller for actually having a successful career and the ability to think a little differently than them. A couple of redneck idiots would be the politically correct term for those hosers.

As H.L. Mencken said, "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."

Here's something a bit unsettling:

Snoop Dogg accused Obama of accepting support and funding from the Klu Klux Klan. SF Gate reports Snoop’s feelings on Barack.

“The KKK gave Obama money. They was (sic) one of his biggest supporters … Why wouldn’t they be? The media won’t tell you that. They don’t want you to know that. They just want you to know that this [bleep] befriended this other [bleep] who be (sic) threatening your values. But we all know all presidents lie to get into [bleep] office. That’s they (sic) job. In America’s eyes, that mutha[bleep]’s gonna be president ‘cos (John) McCain can’t [bleep] with him. Hillary (Clinton) can’t [bleep] with him. He’s winning over white people, white ladies.”

And this from Snoop Dogg, who is so authentically black...

What's unsettling about this? Do you believe all the dog shit littering the Internet?

Campaign financing sources are readily available for research. Who were the KKK donors? List a couple of them here and I'll be glad to do the research.

What actually does "authentically black" mean? Is Obama only half white? Or half black? Does Snopp Dogg have any white blood flowing in his vains?

Sunny,

Those are all great questions, but only Snoop Dogg (or some intrepid and resourceful reporter) can answer them.

I just found it interesting that a rich, successful black was accusing the first viable African-American Presidential candidate of close ties with the Klan. I mean, what was he saying about Obama with such an allegation?

And for what its worth, my reference to authenticity has to do which which man had a more typically black formation: a man born in southern Mississippi, reared in Los Angeles, ended his schooling at after public High School, and became a rapper; or a man who was born into wealth, attended private prep schools, went to Columbia and Harvard, and became a lawyer and politician.

I think you need to read up on Obama. Nothing I've read points to your comment that Obama was "born into wealth." Could you back this statement with some facts.

What actual is a "private prep school?" Would the local Catholic grade school count as a "private prep school?" Before transferring to Harvard, Obama spent two years studying at Occidental College in LA and then transferred to Columbia. Perhaps he was getting the bi-coastal "authentic black experience" in LA and NYC.

What the hell is an "authentic Black experience" anyway? With approximately 40 million Blacks or African Americans living in the US, my guess would be there are approximately 40 million authentic Black experiences. Or, with approximately 220 million Whites in the US, would there only be one authentic White experience? Or is there only one "authentic black exerpience" because they all look alike?

Sunny,

This is hard for you, I'm sure, being so invested in the idea that Obama is some sort of self-made man, but the fact is that his upper-crust mother (there are slave-owners in her ancestry) sent the young Barack to the Punahou School, formerly known as Oahu College, from 5th through 12th grade. Punahou is a private, co-educational, nonsectarian college preparatory school located in Honolulu in the U.S. State of Hawaii. With about 3,700 students attending the school, in kindergarten through the twelfth grade, it is the largest independent school west of the Mississippi River in the United States.

Current tuition is $16,675 for the 2008-2009 school year, not including optional and mandatory fees. Tuition charges do not cover the entire cost of the education of a student, and this "deficit" is met by the school's endowment.

Although this information is off of Wikipedia (accuacy rate over 96%), it comports with other reports I have seen. The fact is, Barack Obama has had a wonderful life made easier by wealth, far easier than you or I as we struggled to pay for our public educations. And far more than that of Snoop Dogg, who fell out of the system during high school.

Its pretty interesting that you are so exercised with my use of the term "authentic black experience:" most liberals like you should immediately understand that to mean poor, oppressed, and disenfranchised. Unless, of course, it is posed in contrast to the messaih Obama, wherein all past definitions and contrasts are irrelevant. Hell, you even trashed JFK in an earlier comment so as to diminish the the gulf of presidential experience and qualification between Obama and President Kennedy.

Your faith is this guy is beyond reason, and your willingness to toss true Democrat hero's under the bus is extraordinary.

Of course, that is what faith is all about: belief outside of objective observation. All hail Obama, the new Democrat savior.

I believe BO's mother's parents were somewhere in the middle class.

I'm actually not sure where I said I was "for" BO. Hope Monger did this post.

Likewise, where did you get the idea that I was a liberal? I'm a pragmatist with democratic party leanings. You don't have to be a total left wing nut to have Democratic leanings. Likewise, there are quality Republican candidates to choose from.

What does experience have to do with being the President? What kind of experience? I believe BO worked at Baskin-Robbins for a couple of his high school years. Didn't BO attend public high school in Chicago? You didn't answer my question about the local Catholic school qualifying as a private prep school.

That remains me of the a comment my live long friend -- who leans heavily towards the Republican voting column -- mentioned about John Kerry in the 2004 election. He said Kerry went to a private school. When I pointed out to him the St. Pat's Catholic School -- which we attended -- is a private school, he said he hadn't thought about that.

Is JFK a Democratic hero or an American martyr? Was Martin Luther King an authentic Black hero or an American martyr?

Notice since Huey P. Long and FDR have there been any "saviors" related to the Democratic Party. History has shown them to be humans like all the rest of us.

Sunny,

I appreciate your candor and suspect that we are not all that far apart in our world views.

I too am a product of parochial gradeschool, which I have come to learn did not cost my parents anything back in the days of religious (i.e. nun) teachers.

But I would pause before referring to it as a prep (i.e. preparatory) school, which commonly refers to secondary schools that prepare their charges for college. My own Marquette elementary (Virgina, MN), like Hudson's St Pat's, prepared us for high school – not college.

Contrast that to Senator Obama’s prep school, which as I mentioned in my previous comment was the pricy Punahou School, which cost his parent(s) tens of thousands of dollars and led to his acceptance at Columbia. That, sir, is a prep school, not a private parochial school.

And for what its worth, I consider MLK not only an authentic Black hero and American martyr, but also a truly great and transformative American Hero. He ranks in the company of Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln and both Roosevelts; he is most deserving of a holiday commemorating him personally.

Obama now ranks in the company of far lesser lights, I’m quite certain, and may fall further as the presidential campaign ramps up this fall. I could be wrong, but his reputation as a transformative leader seems to be little more than pretension and hype at this point.

Let's look at BO this way:

1. In 2004 he came off the bench in his rookie season and hit a grand slam with his speech at the Democratic convention.

2. Considering that the 2008 Democratic primary started in mid-November of 2004, I can't say exactly when BO popped up on the radar screen. However, he wasn't taken seriously on the Clinton radar screen...since they expected that Hillary was the only viable candidate for the Democrats. If the Clinton machine had it all to do over, they might have done it differently.

3. Now the primary battles on...which doesn't bother me a bit. I actually pay little attention to the campaign. I voted in the Wisconsin primary and I'm not planning to be a delegate at the national convention. Powers other than me will determine who gets to be the candidate. My focus is on local campaigns for state assembly ppsitions and state senate.

4. Either Hillary or BO will be the Democratic candidate in 2008 and I will most likely be voting for the Democrat...all though, that won't be determined till voting day.

5. Despite what the loony left and the fruitcake right say, McCain is also a decent Presidential candidate. I believe McCain was even being mentioned as a posible running mate for Kerry in 2004. Of course, Lieberman was Gore's running mate in 2000.

6. If Gus Hall was still on the ballot in 2008, I'd be tempted to vote for him again.

Sunny,

Gus Hall! A blast from the past, and a fellow Iron Ranger to boot. As a teenager, I thought well of him; then in college I found out what Commumism really meant and changed my view.

My first vote was for Eugene McCarthy in 1976; I thought Carter a phony and Ford a knucklehead, so I threw in with big Gene. Even all these years later, I do not regret that vote.

That said, I no longer believe that 3rd party voting is meaningful. They stand no chance of winning, and their supporters just hurt the major party candidate for whom they would probably otherwise be voting. Wallace voters sunk HHH, Perot voters sunk GHW Bush, and Nader voters sunk Gore. LIke it or not, we are a 2 party nation, so pick the lesser of two evils!

I think the role of a successful third party candidate is to take an election away from frick to give it to frack when frick would have had enough votes (51 percent) to declare a mandate. With the inclusion of the successful thrid party candidate, frack now has the mandate.

I voted for Gus Hall so I would have credible leverage to write a letter to the editor complaining about potential voters fraud -- because the didn't list any votes for the third party candidate.

I never look at it as picking the lesser of two evils. It's not a perfect world and the arena of presidential politics keeps changing...as it always has.

I actually think the BO and McCain personally might try to push back against the political pissing match that makes up the Presidential race...but their voices of moderation will be drowned out by the right and left squack boxes that more and more dominate the process.

A friend of mine used to be taken Communist meetings with his Dad where Gus Hall was a member. He said it was the most boring torture he'd ever been exposed to.

Do you still think Carter was a phoney? I voted for him in 1976 and 1980. I think he was quite sincere, but also too detailed oriented. It was quite a contrast to go from Carter the nuclear scientist to Reagan the actor-governor.

Speaking of Carter, he may be the President with the broadest background of political office experience. From school board to state legislature to gov to President, he did it all.
