What If FOX News Is Wrong? #1
Those eco-freaks who have been proven wrong about global warming say a sign of global warming in an increase in the release of methane gas. Of course, some of the greatest scientific experts of today -- like Shaun Hannity of FOX News -- have debunked these global warming charlatans of the great fraud they are foisting on the innocents of this Earth.
Wouldn't it be funny if FOX News turned out to be wrong and the Earth experience rapid warming that costs citizens untold trillions of dollars to combat the impacts and it quickly became obvious that billions spend in the first two decades of the second millennium could have significantly slowed the warming?

A section of the Arctic Ocean seafloor that holds vast stores of frozen methane is showing signs of instability and widespread venting of the powerful greenhouse gas, according to the findings of an international research team led by University of Alaska Fairbanks scientists Natalia Shakhova and Igor Semiletov.
The research results, published in the March 5 edition of the journal Science, show that the permafrost under the East Siberian Arctic Shelf, long thought to be an impermeable barrier sealing in methane, is perforated and is leaking large amounts of methane into the atmosphere. Release of even a fraction of the methane stored in the shelf could trigger abrupt climate warming.

Here are a few things that are not funny:
What if the world is going though a warming period similar to, but not as severe as, numerous such periods in the past, the most recent being the medieval warming period of 900-1300 AD when the Norsemen were colonizing and farming on Greenland?
And even less funny, what if modern scientists, complicit in the politicizing of their theories and conjectures in pursuit of greater accolades and grant monies, fudged data and suppressed dissent in order to promote their shaky assertion that the current warming cycle, unlike all past warning cycles, is man-made?
And the least funny would be if collectivist, acquisitive, and power-hungry politicians latched on to the shaky science of AGW to enact onerous new lifestyle restrictions, debilitating economic policies, and confiscatory taxation laws to capitalize on the false crisis that they have helped create?

If we are going through a 400 years warming period, we won't know until 2278. I say this, because I have in my possession a article from the National Geographic from the late 1970s discussing the coming Ice Age.
Me thinks you are putting today's scientists into the position of the Catholic church in the age of Martin Luther. You don't suppose fame, fortune, power and politics have taken hold of the scientific world? Has scientific data been fudged or could the level of mathematics their numbers are crunched at be too hard to understand for the pickup-drivin', gun-tottin', Bible-carryin' foundation of today's "conservative" movement? Do you have proof that scientists actually fudged their data? Or are you repeating right-wing talking about things you don't have the education or training to understand?
I don't think scientists are as good at political spin and as political spin-mills that are funded by some of the largest, most profitable companies in the world...companies that stand to lose big with the coming of alternative energy sources and having to pay for the full cost of production.
The "false crisis" concept of capitalism seems to have worked for the Bush administration in the first half of the 2000s.
Wouldn't it be funny if the collectivist, acquisitive and power-hungry politicians totally forgot about global warming and were able to implement their Bolshevik plans while drilling for oil offshore, in ANWAR and replacing coal-powered electric plants with nuclear power...and 53 percent of the voting public loved the results?
